PCB rewiew

so this is ANOTHER rewiew of the A.C.D.P.

-changelog:added USB-C datalines and dataupload

-fixed a TON of reouting

-added other silkscreen cuz yeah

-added audio jack (i hope its connected in the right way)

-re-added common GND plate (its just soo much easier whit it)

-thicker traces (where i could manage to)

-moved the crystal a bit so it has almost nothing around it (this is the best i could pull off)

QUESTIONS:

-how can i make this battery powered?? it has to be portable since its just a 7.5x5cm

-if there are some weak points tell me so i can fix it!-

PCB rewiew (ACDP V2)

changelog:

-SCHEMATIC-

-i rearrenged the components on the schematic for less overlapping

-i changed (finally) the transistor whit a PNP 2N2222

-proprely integreted a flywheel diode

-corrected minor wire issues

-fixed the oscillator crystal capacitors

-PCB-

-smaller board (5x7,5cm)

-better layout (shorter traces)

proper motor "sector"

-fixed transistor orientation

-traces=0.8->1mm

-common 5V rail

-better spacing (where i managed to) between traces

-added slikscreen!

and yes u/FullyAutomatedSpace i will add a sick ass panther on the back on the board

-3D-

-i think it looks cool so have it.

-SCOPE OF THE PCB-

its an MP.3 player whit a DFPlayer mini whit an 8gig microSD,potentiometer, tactile button, and membrane kyepad for user input,TFT display for User Interface, and a DC motor to make a 3D printed casette spin!

all powered by an ATMega238P-P and a 16Mhz oscillation crystal.

i hope the quality of the images is good.

ACDP V1 is in honk cong

so i just recived a notification from JLCPCB saying my PCB is in yuen long yuen long hk?? and THIS got me awere of the fact that it will take more than i excepted for it to arrive, but atleast i hope it's having a good trip :)

i AM back. whit V2!

soo im back, whit V2 of the ACDP,this time actually using wires, and power symbols,i also added an oscillation crystal and corrected the decoupoling capacitors, and fixed the issue whit the motor "sector"

the scope of V2 of the ACDP its the same, but whit better schematic, hopefully a better layout, smaller board,1mm traces if i can manage, and better routing!

if there are some errors say it.

P.S:the PCB of V1 arrived to me,when i have time i will begin testing :)

also, for some reason the image is always low quality, idk why! i use windows screenshot app.

I ordered my first PCB

So,after many many,MANY reviews and modifications to my A.C.D.P. PCB,I finally ordered it through JLCPCB,they say it will arrive in around 4 days, I'm not so sure though...anyway I got 5 boards with just 4.77€ (whit discounts)

PCB rewiew-

-changelog:

-new USB-C

-proper CC1/2 resistors

-functioning motor "sector"

-0.4mm->0.8mm traces

-rerouting,to doge thin traces going in between pads

-scope of the PCB:

its an ATmega powered "casette player" in the sense that ill 3D print a case that looks like a casette reader, and a casette, and the motor will make it spin, even if the music is digital, coming from a DFPlayer mini whit a microSD;the TFT will display the UI,the keypad, pot, and button are user input.

-if there are problems whit the PCB,like that it wont work or there are some weak point for manufacturing say it thanks, just dont be mean :)

NOTES:i used labeles to not have a wire mess, else i would have used cables in the schematic-also im from italy so i dont know well C1/C2 english.

PCB rewiew,over and OVER-

so its me again,i modified the PCB once again, rerouted things, made the traces a bit thiccer (0.4->0.45) added proper CC1/2 and most importantly...NEW USB! power only tho,but for now is good....RIGHT?

as always if some of you can spot something WAY TOO wrong whit it say it! so i can improve even more in kicad

the second image is my first ever attempt btw.

SO IS THIS GOOD NOW?

the FIRST image is the final desing of my first ever PCB,modified whit ALL the helpulf advice i recived in previous post, and for now i think this is very good,i got 0.9mm traces (more and it would short almost everything),better routing, whit less vias, and a better use of the 2nd layer,AND a better use of all the deadspace under the MCU,that i never utilized (thinking it was blocked)....BEFORE ANYONE SAYSI IT,THAT TRACE EXITING THE TOP RIGHT OF THE MCU IS CONNECTED,THE TRACE IS THIN CUZ IT HAS TO.

the SECOND image instead is the FIRST layout i EVER made in my whole life, whitout a GND plane, whit EXTREMLY BAD ROUTING,thin traces, unconneted bits everywhere, wrong decoupling capacitors, missing R2 on CC2 for the USB-C,and missing the whole motor "SECTOR" area.

if there are STILL some REAL problems, not "bad layout" cuz like i said in ALMOST every other post,i WANT IT TO BE LIKE THIS. any other suggestion is GREATLY apprecieted.

just dont be rude ;)

SPECIAL THANKS y'all-

I want to thank y'all for helping me improve my first ever PCB,with useful advice, and even images containing the rerouting for me,special thanks go to @Tisapph and @brdavis 5 for helping me out a lot in my last post,I will shortly upload a new post whit the completed, and corrected PCB.

THICKER TRACES!

so i've found a lot of comments (not only my post) saying to put thicker traces, and to add a motor sector (transistor and diode) between the actual motor pin and the MCU,so here it is!

ANOTHER rewiew (its the same PCB but i fixed some things

so here it is again,i cleaned up the PCB (there were a lot of flying little traces, and renamed the unconnected things so it dosent say error in DRC),also added the motor "sector" whit the transistor (2N2219),the 1k resistor MCU-transistor base, and added a flyback diode, all of this to prevent power spikes.

if there's something wrong whit it tell me so i can fix it!

PCB rewiew... AGAIN-

So I've watched some tutorials, added a common GND plane, fixed vias, rerouted everything so it's a bit cleaner, fixed the USB-C footprint, now it's THT (even in the 3D view it's THT) and repositioned some parts to have less noise, also added the second 5.1k resistor on the USB-C CC (cuz last time it was only one)

PCB rewiew

Hello,I'm new to PCB and kicad (like a week new) and need advice for my first PCB.

Also are the footprints used THT? If not how to make them THT?

thanks.
