I have a message from BlackBunnie

"To all my frens, the staff, and every host who helps make AI Underground what it is—thank you, sincerely, for every Sunday, every song, every laugh, and every moment of chaos we’ve shared.

With my job entering its busiest season, I need to step away for a short 2–3 month hiatus. I’m truly sorry for leaving a hole in our Sundays and for any extra weight my absence may place on the team. This was not an easy decision, because this community means more to me than I can properly put into words.

My 31st Listening Party may be my last one for a little while, but it is not goodbye. Please keep the music loud, keep supporting one another, and keep the Underground alive until I return.

# AI:Underground's 1-Year Anniversary – 60 Hour Listening Party!

AIU FAM!

We've got a lineup of Album Premieres and Listening Parties happening for our **60-hour Listening Party** celebrating **AI:Underground's first anniversary!** With **185 hours** already in our record books, we know this community loves a never-ending party.

Kicking us off will be **Vikingur/Mezdesson**. There has been a slight change in location—his listening party will now be taking place on the AI:Underground Discord.

For those of you who don't know, we started our listening parties with Mez and Zalixor on Discord. What began as a casual listening session turned into one of the highlights of AI:Underground today.

We truly appreciate everyone who's been with us on this journey. Be sure to submit tracks to the AIU Day Challenge, and feel free to showcase them during this weekend's Listening Parties and Album Premieres. It's all about celebrating the music and showing appreciation for a community like this.

I'll be around most of the weekend talking with many of you personally, sharing the story of how we all got started, and discussing some of the pivotal behind-the-scenes decisions that helped shape AI:Underground into what it is today.

Lastly, I'd like to personally thank our moderators, hosts, and admin team for believing in this vision and understanding that this community has always been bigger than any one person. The conversation that cemented the creation of AI:Underground was me telling Vicky, "I'm doing this for us—all of us." We've stayed true to that all year.

We have something from our friend DLayman and the University of Miami

Commission Season has officially begun.

As many of you know, AI Underground has partnered with Dr. Simon Howard and the University of Miami’s course, Psych & Flow: The Psychology of Hip-Hop. This fall, students will be creating original projects exploring the intersection of hip-hop, psychology, identity, culture, and human behavior.

Now they need music.

We are building a curated library of beats, instrumentals, grooves, textures, and sonic foundations that students can draw from as they create their capstone projects. This is not a contest. This is a commission.

Think like a professional composer.

All hip-hop genres are welcome, including Trap, Boom Bap, East Coast, West Coast, Drill, UK Drill, Latin Trap, Lo-Fi Hip-Hop, Melodic Hip-Hop, Chopped & Screwed, and hybrid approaches.

To start, please submit one track per composer. Community feedback will help identify standout submissions, so if you hear something you love, give it a ❤️ reaction. Finalists will be selected from the initial round, and additional tracks may be requested from those creators.

Initial submissions must include a Suno link. Final selected works will require instrumental masters and stems.

Creators retain ownership and writing credit for their work.

Alright AIU FAM, this one is going to be a lot of fun.

**AI:Underground x Midnight Tee World Sound Cup 🎵 🏆 **

As many of you know, the World Cup 26 has started and what an amazing start it had!

So for this special month-long event AI:Underground is teaming up with Midnight Tee for a special **World Cup ⚽ 🏆 ** event, and we want to turn the whole thing into a giant community music showcase.

Here is what you need to know:

▪️ Pick a country.

▪️Make a song inspired by it.

▪️That can mean the culture, the football energy, the language, the traditional sounds, the history, the vibes, the chaos, whatever catches your ear.

🔺 It does not have to be a national anthem.

🔺It does not have to be serious.

🔺It does not have to be “perfect.”

Make it beautiful, heavy, fun, cinematic, emotional, traditional, futuristic, or creative. As long as the country inspired it, you are good.

You can submit your track through our World Sound Cup forum/channel in our discord.

⚡ How will the Event play out

As we get closer to the deadline, both AI:Underground and Midnight Tee communities will go through the submissions. Meanwhile Vikingur/Mezdesson and Teemuth will pick their favorites too. Not necessarily the “best” songs, but the ones that feel interesting, creative, fun, or memorable.

As stated the community will also get to vote for favorites, so it will not just be host picks.

And because we obviously cannot hold our excitement contained, we are also planning wildcard roulette moments where random submissions get thrown into the wheel and fate decides what gets played for the stream.

When you submit your song, we will also ask a few small questions like:

• What country did you choose?

• Why did you choose it?

• What musical influences did you use?

• Did you learn anything new while making it?

That way, during the showcase, we can actually talk about the songs properly instead of just pressing play and moving on. Every track gets a little story behind it.

On the site, you can search for a country or let it surprise you. Once you choose one, it gives you some country info and a basic starter prompt you can use for Suno.

So if you have no idea where to start, the website can basically grab you by the shoulders and say

“Here. This country. Go cook.”

The stream will happen on Twitch.

On both Midnight Tee and AI:Underground channels on July 18th.

The deadline for submitting your songs is 12th of July.
