Filed my ITR for AY 2026-27 today; my ITRs for AY 2025-26 (at verified stage still ) & AY 2024-25 (processed on 25th Dec'25 with refund due) are still pending... Sheer agony & frustration
Today I filed my ITR for current year AY 2026-27 out of sheer frustration, agony and years of pain of not receiving the refunds. I filed this years ITR without a single penny exemption/any section claim under new tax regime just to check if they still find a way to hold refunds, am supposed to receive 50% of tax I have paid post processing & e-verification which is already completed (my tax liability drastically went down just because I was jobless for half the year)... Let's see if the Income Tax Gods process this refund atleast or they'll continue holding my refunds for last 3 years. While the chances are bleak to get any refund looking at my luck and Income Tax Departments behaviour in last couple of years.
All the talk about implementing AI/New Processess/Tech/blah-blah will come to light soon...
I'll keep updating here what happens, to my BELOVED FRATERNITY OF 25 LACS +/- who are still awaiting their refunds for AY 2025-26
