‘Would you use a real-time map of natural disasters, like Liveuamap but for earthquakes, fires and floods?’
I’m thinking of building something similar to Liveuamap (the
real-time conflict map that aggregates news and social media)
but focused on natural disasters: earthquakes, fires,
floods, hurricanes, etc.
The idea would be to combine official data (USGS, NASA, NOAA) with
news reports and social media, all on a map that is
updated in real time.
Before I get stuck into building it properly, I’d like to know:
- Do you think it would be useful? What would you use it for (curiosity, travel,
work, family safety)?
- Do you already use something similar? Which one, and what’s missing from it?
- What would you add or remove?
Any feedback (even “this is useless because…”)
is a huge help to me.
