Lawn Maintenance in this hot weather
Top seed or wait?
I have been doing lawn maintenance after not doing much for a few years. Size 60 Sqm. Had lots of weeds on the lawn, thatch build up and uneven ground.
So I rented a scarifier and did two passes over the whole lawn. Then I rented an aerator and went over it.
To level and prepare for over-seeding, I have put in 16 bags of Westland Lawn and Turf Dressing and leveled with leveling rack. This has helped to level but still have low spots.
I am now wondering if I should proceed with putting the seeds in - I have 2 boxes of Rolawn medallion 1Kg lawn seed since the original lawn was Rolawn medallion and I want to match the grass. Given the temperatures are forecast to reach low 30s in the next few days, would this be a good time to over seed? Or I should wait for them to drop. I understand I will need to keep the ground wet for a week or so for the seeds to germinate. But would they in this weather? Any advice is appreciated.
I am also considering renting a garden roller and going over the lawn for flatten it more. What do you guys think?
I would like to get it perfectly leveled, but I was told I cannot do it in one go and will have to fill in the low spots over time. But I am wondering if inside bite the bullet and do it all now.
