Curious about Halloween III: Season of the Witch
This October I’m watching all the Halloween movies in release order and so please don’t spoil any future films.
I just finished season of the witch and am curious as to why John Carpenter decided to take it in an entirely different direction away from the story of Michael Myers. Considering it’s called Halloween III it’s fair to expect that it would be a continuation of the previous two movies.
Aside from a short commercial showing a movie about what happened in Haddonfield, nothing.
I actually didn’t dislike 3, on its own it’s a ridiculous and fun movie but I’m curious if the original intent of going in a different direction was to create an anthology series of sorts? Or was it a marketing ploy to attach the title of “Halloween” to sell more tickets?
