8 days later....

8 days in and here's what I've experienced since:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Vasectomy/s/3JzUEPRzvE

Super painful days 1-3. I normally heal from EVERYTHING super fast. This? Nope! Also, never been sliced on in my 43 years, till now. Joined reddit JUST to research this experience. Not sure how in the name of Kratos or any other god people were doing normal stuff after 2-3 days, but I could barely walk. Iced as much as I could. I have a 15 month old and the missis only had enough time to take off for days 1-3. I work from home so I still had to play/change/feed him. Lots of swelling in the inguinal area on my left side (right side is almost 90% normal....weird), sack the size of a softball (confirmed hematoma), bruising on left side of groin and my dangalang has tiger stripe bruising, lol. Frozen PEAS/CORN have been a god-send! 2 pair of boxer briefs with a jock strap in between to hold the peas/corn/ice packs works WONDERS!

Just went to doc today just to make sure the inguinal discomfort/swelling isn't a hernia. It's not. After his examination, doc advised it's just swelling from the trauma to my anatomy and prescribed me 800mg of ibuprofen. He also scoffed at the thought of being told I'd be fine after 2-3 days and explained it'd be more like 2-3 weeks before the pain is vaguely noticeable and 4-6 months before I'm back to normal, but possibly longer.

Currently, swelling has gone down, but pain is manageable, about a 3-4 out of 10. Gonna jump on the riding mower and do some grilling this weekend. Looks like it's nothing but up from here. Haven't serviced myself or been serviced yet, but I'm in no rush. The mild pain is convincing enough that I should wait a few more days. Thankful for the insight I did receive here tho!

Just got home, the journey begins

Follow up to my first post: https://www.reddit.com/r/Vasectomy/comments/1sluawd/1_month_out_longish_post/

Hi all, 2 hours out from my no scalpel with Dr. Shapiro in Fayetteville, Ga 12 mins from home. Procedure was simple enough. There were some moments of pain that creeped up to about a 5, but nothing unbearable. Took the valium, (had absolutely no effect on me) right before we arrived and honestly felt no different. Nurse was thicka than a snicka who mainly talked to me about the new Micheal Jackson movie while she prepped me. We actually ended up being from the same part of ATL. Anywho, doc came in, joined the MJ movie conversation, then talked about my kid and wife. Total of 10 mins. Put on my jock strap and wife and I left and went to grab some lunch for today and libation for tomorrow. Pain has creeped up to that 5, but again, not unbearable, added the ice pack to the undeez jock strap when I got home and now just chilling in bed after taking some extended release Tylenol. Updating again in a week or 2. Ask away if you have any questions.
