FAAMA supports 2.8% but with a catch…

Several sources indicates that the FAAMA has come out in support of the 2.8% but only for Management.

Technically management are controllers and the agency would be meeting the requirement of the law.

This seems to be a interesting development.

SB Claps Back

One of my biggest issues with Yacht Boy is that he does not even TRY to refute these claims.

Has anyone noticed?

Has anyone noticed the increased priority in staffing core 30 facilites?

Perhaps the hiring pipeline has failed to staff the NAS and that focusing on core 30 will alleviate the inevitable retirements that will shortly will affect us?

Focus on staffing up the core 30 will allow the airlines to keep their on time metrics and passengers moving at the hubs.

Just some ideas from the low area this morning.

Alex Navarro “trust us…”

Navarro asks us to “point the spears where they belong,” but conveniently ignores the role he and NATCA leadership played in PUTTING US HERE.

We are told that because a 2.8% raise exists, it’s too risky to negotiate. Navarro wants us to accept this argument to accept permanent stagnation because something worse might happen.

Collective bargaining driven by fear is not bargaining Alex.

It is also difficult to hear calls for “collective activism” when members repeatedly asked for transparency, meaningful discussion, and a vote on major decisions, only to be dismissed or told leadership knew best.

Activism starts with listening to your own membership. Another failed RVP tell us, the members, he knows what is good for us.

FAA Town Hall 7/30

Watched Bedford’s town hall… He said that the 2.8 being is held up because he wants to go from 4 hours to 5 hours TOP (as previously reported) and is working with NATCA on a way to adjust the BWS to accomplish it.

Do we have the Kalshi odds on the BWS no longer being negotiated?

Possible Pay Package

Last rumor coming out of Oshkosh from last week:

FAA pay package could be 2.8% across the board + something like or called Special Salary Rate for Level 4–8 facilities.

No idea if it’s legit but the structure makes sense.

Higher level facilities already have a lot of CPCs near the federal pay cap, so a huge raise doesn’t necessarily translate into more money for everyone.

Levels 4–8 have a lot more room under the cap and that’s also where starting/early career pay can be a bigger staffing problem.

No idea if it’s legit but the structure makes sense

2.8% for everyone.
SSR for Levels 4–8.

The 2.8% gives everyone something, while the SSR targets the lower-level facilities where a larger pay increase could actually have an impact.

Purely beer tent rumor. Take it for what it’s worth.

If the goal was to address controller pay and staffing without touching the federal pay cap, this would be a pretty simple way to do it.

Cant wait to see how Yacht Boy claims its a win.

Latest Rumor out of OSH (Direct Hire Sup Bids)

Latest rumor out of OSH:

-FAA wants to be able to direct hire for sup bids from prior military as opposed to the normal “internal to agency” hiring announcements

-Direct Hire sups would be given a “significant” pay increase off the rip for taking a sup job

-Direct Hire sups would be, at minimum, required to do 5 years at facility assigned before they can transfer
