If you haven’t heard of lightshade.cloud yet, which is genuinely impossible by the amount of posts made about the platform, it is one of the best alternative apps for c.ai. I myself used c.ai before this and I can confidently say that this platform is a banger. Maybe it’s just me, I dunno, but I really recommend giving it a try, can’t hate or like something if you haven’t tried it before.

Now, there has been some controversy in the community, and I will be going over them all in full detail, this is going to be quite the rant, and there might be some grammatical mistakes due to me not being native English, but I’m going to try my best

A few days back, Limon, the owner and creator of lightshade.cloud made a poll about whether or not NSFW should stay on the website, or if it should be gone. Before this, you could make NSFW bots, however the bot had to be set to private. But due to people ALLEGEDLY making disgusting bots, bypassing some safeguards to release NSFW to the public, AND that Limon and the other founders had to spend every single day for hours on end going through bots and conversations to make sure there wasn’t CSAM content, Limon was forced to make a decision:

• Either keep NSFW
OR
• Delete it

But there was also an important factor. The main service provider, the one who literally powers lightshade.cloud’s models, was against NSFW entirely and wanted it all down or she would not let Limon use her/his hardware for models.

A few hours, or a day later I think? Not sure, a person by the name of “Neko” joined the server, with the complaint that she/he did not like the fact that a day 1 feature, NSFW, was going to be taken off, and proceeded to go ahead and tell the service provider to go “fuck off”. An administrator that was a witness to the insults and arguments being thrown left and right around in the general chat started having a panic attack.. or just panicking, not sure about that either- and had to take a short break because of that.

Later on, Neko was muted permanently in the lightshade.cloud Discord server, apparently because of: “swearing”. That was the reason previewed there, yeah, but in reality, Neko literally just told the service provider to “fuck off” and called her/him a “controlling piece of shit”. I understand the frustration.. but really?

Now, NSFW is going to stay on lightshade.cloud, but the service provider and Limon have reached an anonymous agreement which not me, nor anyone else knows about. The models are going to stay. The service provider will continue collaborating with Lightshade.cloud. Hooray! But that’s not it.

There have been some recent complaints about the moderators/administrator being childish and immature, a really popular example being “Singularity”, who is 13 years old. She/he has now retired though, but it is still an “ongoing problem”. Another thing that people pointed out is the role of “moderator” is just being thrown around for funsies to anyone. I’m not sure about that statement.. every trial moderator/moderator/administrator is an OG, sticking around the community for a very long time.
