One "area" of life where you can easily see the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie is evening rush-hour traffic
Sitting in rush hour traffic coming home from a long, stupid, day of work is one of the easiest ways to see what the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie is and how fucking terrible it is.
Looking around at the people in cars around me. A guy in a suit and tie driving a beat up Toyota. A worker driving a carpenters truck or a plumbers truck or a landscapers truck - for example - sitting day-in and day-out in rush hour traffic all to get home with maybe four hours to spare before they pass out.
It really hit me today just how this is our world that we have built. The bourgeoisie leech off of our labor. And this is the daily existence we get? Fucking awful.
Getting home anywhere between 6pm - 8pm depending on when they left the office, how far away they live, and how bad traffic is. You get home, put your shit away, make a meal, clean up, and it's time for bed to then get up bright and early and do it all again. This also assumes you don't have children who require care, help with homework, etc.
No wonder why so many of us are overweight, stressed to the hilt and suffering from hypertension, and probably in the future heart disease as well.
This is life for so many working people anywhere from 3-5 days a week depending on "hybrid" (or fully on-site) roles. This is the daily life that way too many of us were too eager to "return to normal" during the pandemic but I digress a bit there.
Anyway. All that to say, this shit is god awful. The dictatorship of the bourgeoisie can, of course, be seen all around us in a whole lot of ways but something about sitting in traffic and just looking around at all the working people around me and thinking that this is our life. This is the shit we get for our toiling and misery...? Pushing 40 you'd think I would have just become numb to all of this by now but some days it hits harder than others.
Fuck the dictatorship of the bourgeoisie. We need Marxism-Leninism asap.
