Vanguard Onslaught build
Hello, nidboyz! (and nidgals, obviously)
I am planning to play competitive games using a 2000 points army built on the Vanguard Onslaught detachement.
If I know how to use leapers, lictors, and neurolictors, I was wondering what could go into my list to deal with armored threats like defilers and other nasty tanks.
One option is to go for a Tyrannofex with Rupture cannon and 2 squads of zooanthropes. But I have never played those yet, and I am wondering if they are worth buying to deal with dedicated anti tanks.
Also, I have misbought two boxes of hive tyrants, so I would like to know if it makes any sense to field two Winged Hive tyrants in a VO build. (I am planning to print the torsos as well so I can build the swarmlord and the regular hive tyrant)
So far, my battle plan is to infiltrate a 6 leaper squad to claim enough space and use two 3 leapers units to screen my Genestealers.
The lictors will be kept in reserve as they can rapid ingress where I need them, or start on the board to score while leapers are screening.
The neurolictors are going to stay in range of objectives to try to battleshock capping units and disrupt OC.
My Genestealers with BL are my main melee hammers, but I really lack durable presence on the board.
I also have 2 Gargoyles units to throw at the enemy and flock around objectives or nasty stuff I wanna move-block.
And the mighty biovore to block some lanes.
Is this a sound plan? Besides the fact it lacks anti tank capability.
Thank you for your input
