The short-eared dog is the least known of the canids. Solitary by nature, it lives deep in the Amazon rainforest basin in untouched wilderness and prefers to avoid humans. Their elusiveness and secluded habitat has made them nearly impossible to study, earning them the nickname ghost of the forest. They kind of look like thylacines to me!
