Just started learning tooling. And I feel like I didnt have the moisture level correct when I took my swivel knife to this piece. Some of it felt ok, but mostly it felt like the knife was sticking. Is that too much moisture?

Edit: Thanks for all the tips. I'll definitely be keeping this one as is for some good horde representation. And probably need to sharpen/strop the knife. Was using it how it came. And will be a bit more patient after I wet it.
