How common are LS transfers?

I’m curious because in undergrad I’d say it’s pretty widespread but I’ve never really thought about it for a professional degree. Is it common to transfer or is it highly unusual. This comes from someone who transferred in their undergrad.

Is transferring in my situation worth it? Am I overreacting?

I am a admitted 1L at a top 100 school in the midwest and start in the fall. I am 100% okay staying and graduating from here, especially since I have family so close. But it has always been my dream to live out on the east coast (NY/NJ, Boston, Philly) or back home where I grew up in Colorado. I feel that staying at my school might lock me in to being an attorney in the midwest. But I am also aware of the fact that transfers might lose out on OCI opportunities and making friends and connections can be harder. I also am going to school for a decent price here but I am willing to pay more to go to a place on the east coast.

Obviously this is all contingent on me getting good grades during 1L. But is it feasible or I am I just freaking out?
