1.25mg Journey
So, this is long one… but I thought it might be useful for anyone hesitating. Just a disclaimer, I am not a medical professional, I took these doses according to what I personally felt comfortable with, and I carefully monitored how it was making me feel.
I started my mounjaro journey in March 2025.
SW: 107kg CW: 74kg GW: 68kg
I completed the first 4 weeks as advised on the 2.5mg, then felt comfortable enough to go up to 5mg. My first four weeks of the 5mg led to horrible nausea and stomach upset, but I kept going, hoping it would pass as I got used to it. After ordering my second 5mg pen, and 2 further doses, I decided it just wasn’t worth feeling that way.
I then went back down to the 2.5mg, and stayed on that dose for about 20 weeks. I lost 12kg during that time. I was very happy on this dose, minimal side effects, while losing a sensible amount of weight each week.
Due to being ill, I took a break for a month, then decided to use 2.5mg pens at 30 clicks for a 1.25mg dose. I stayed on the 1.25mg for 27 weeks, and lost a further 10kg. I have since decided to stop taking mounjaro, and focus on reaching my goal manually.
All in all, I’ve lost 33kg in just over a year, and the majority of that was on the smallest dose. I haven’t done anything major - I’ve had a very balanced diet, I’ve been moving more, and working on eating mindfully.
I just wanted to write this as a message to anyone thinking of starting, or giving up, or wondering about a 1.25mg dose. It is possible, and it doesn’t need a life overhaul. Losing weight isn’t a sprint, and although it can be frustrating not seeing results quickly, meaningful change takes time - building those positive habits takes time.
This has definitely been one of the best choices I have made for myself, it has been life changing in the most positive way. Losing the weight has been great, but honestly, learning to listen to my body and understanding my limits has been the most beneficial thing for me.
Best wishes to anyone on their journey💜
