For starters this is an Indian film or at the very least its Indian actors speaking Hindi. I believe it was on Netflix and was a newer movie post 2000s. The plot is a girl under pressure to become an amazing singer who is berated and abused by her mom. They stumble across an orphaned boy who is an amazing singer so the mom adopts him and starts to focus on him instead. The daughter poisons him out of jealousy and he loses his voice leading to him hanging himself. I cant search for it and its driving me nuts.
