Cleaning (and deodorising)
Should I clean old buttons in soap and water? I mostly want to get rid of the "locked in nana's attic for 50 years" odour. Thanks.

Collection of vintage buttons from Marketplace
Someone went through they're nan's loft and sold the whole lot. There's glass mourning buttons, bakelite, wood, metal, mother of pearl, leather, and plastic in all shapes and sizes. And this is the half I kept. The rest is going to the charity shop. Now i need to find some coat patterns. Any suggestions?
