Neurodivergent and struggling with bs management
TLDR; For folks out there who are neurodivergent & diabetic, what do you do to make your life easier when it comes to food? How do you manage to still eat well or just eat at all when life feels like a distraction or just straight up overwhelming?

Hello! On mobile so apologies for any weird formatting. I am currently working on lowering my A1C as it has recently spiked after many months of mismanagement. Taking this as a wake up call to do some actual adjusting to exercise and diet.
Personally, I’m decently active but need more dedicated time to move intentionally (usually in the 7-10k steps a day during the week). And I have decent stamina when I go to the gym. While some aches and pains can slow me down at times, getting activity and movement into my day has been manageable.
What I struggle with however, is food. I get too overwhelmed at the prospect of cooking most nights and end up gravitating towards things that are premade/not really good for me or my body. That or I don’t eat at all. My fatigue has been really bad recently and that doesn’t help me when it’s time to get some food in my body. I go through phases too where I would rather not eat a single thing and just go sleep, which I don’t know that it is ideal to put my body through so much chaos. Uncertain how this has been impacting my bs on the daily as I only check my bs in the mornings as per my doctor’s orders.
I guess I just feel like eating right has always eluded me because I’ve also dealt with binge eating disorder to help regulate my emotions. Now that I am not really using food to cope/I am far more aware if I am, food is just a chore that I have come to dread. Does anyone have any advice for what they do to make sure they are still eating well, but working with their brains to make it easier?
There have been other things that my adhd/neurodivergence has gotten in the way of, but I have figured out little ways to be more successful like carrying a little container of my medication with me just in case I forget when running out the door in the morning. Carrying gum with me to provide stimulation in moments of boredom so I don’t just reach for foods I don’t need/aren’t good for me. It’s not fool proof, but it helps keep me on track. Always open to hearing more tips and tricks to making this process easier!
