SQE1 exam days vs SQE2 exam days? Mentally knackering?

Did folks who’ve sat both find the SQE2 exam days more draining than SQE1 exam days? I’ve read a few comments that suggest so.

I got home after each of the SQE1 exams just absolutely beaten up mentally. I can’t imagine feeling like that and then being able to get up ready for another the next day, twice. 😬

SQE1 July 26 limbo? Lack of structure for SQE2 study with ADHD

Anyone else who sat in July and hoping to sit SQE2 in October finding themselves unable to get into or perhaps to structure their study?

I’m not sure whether my inability to really get into SQE2 study is burnout and some anxiety about failing SQE1 or because BARBRI helpfully spoonfed me the structure to follow for SQE1 prep and with ADHD I don’t have good planning skills. I miss being able to just log in and knowing exactly what to study next.

I spiralled after FLK1 and am still worried I failed it. I prepped for SQE1 with BARBRI. (As everyone says, great structure, mocks and MCQs too easy.) Planning just to use Devil’s advocate for FLK along with my SQE1 books, then a combo of the DA SQE2 crash course and the SQE2 ReviseSqe texts for skills.

I feel pretty off at work too. All I’m feeling motivated by are my hobbies at present. Brain maybe saying no more law!

Any thoughts on structuring SQE2 prep or how you’re feeling about studying during this limbo time we’re currently in really welcomed.

Which provider for SQE2 prep?

I’ve just sat SQE1 and hoping to be ready to sit SQE2 in October, results permitting 😅🥲. If you have completed and passed SQE2, please could you share which provider you were with and whether you recommend them? I was with BARBRI for SQE1 and am not sure about using them for SQE2. Given that I’ve been working in an in house legal compliance team for many years and create written advice, etc., daily, I have been toying with the idea of self studying with ULaw and ReviseSQE texts then finding a tutor who can do some written and oral assessments with me. Is this a bad idea? Please share your wisdom on getting through part two of this ordeal! 🤞Thanks 😣

Did you feel similar after each FLK?

For those of us who’ve sat both FLK1 and FLK2 over the past couple of weeks, I wondered how you felt afterwards about each exam?

I’m wondering if others shared my experience of FLK1 feeling much worse, (spiralled afterwards) or if this was more my own psychology of not really knowing what to expect going into FLK1, pulling myself together and going into FLK2 with that knowledge so more able to deal with it!

Well done to everyone else who’s gone through this horror show after months of committing every bit of free time to prep. I work in edtech rather than an LLP and my colleagues think this is like the test you get at the end of a week’s training course… lots of, ‘don’t worry, when I did my project management/advanced Excel certificate I thought I failed but I didn’t’. Well thanks for that assurance, Kevin 🙄🙄🙄🥲

PMS to replace Guesty for Hosts?

Guesty for Hosts (was Your Porter) is being discontinued at end of May and so I need to set up an alternative ASAP. I only have 1 property at present (will be two eventually but no more) and need something that enables automated messaging using templates, limited housekeeper access to booking info, a website for direct bookings, connection to Stripe for direct booking payments and Pricelabs for dynamic pricing management.

Feels like Guesty Lite will be a downgrade and Lodgify will be more expensive. Have seen mixed reviews of other platforms. Would love recommendations from and experiences of others who have migrated already. Thanks 🙏
