white, middle class, female, 2nd generation, CA resident but not bay area, my school is an extremely non-competitive public school in the middle of nowhere

planning on majoring in poli sci/ public policy on prelaw track

hooks: my spike is foster care advocacy and my brother and i are both adopted

GPA: 4.0 UW/ 4.6 W (top 10 in my class)

APs: AP human (5), AP euro (5), AP chem (4), APUSH (5), AP lang (5), AP psych (5)

in progress: AP calc bc, AP lit, AP bio, AP micro, AP macro, AP us gov

DEs: ASL 101, ASL 102, art appreciation, intro to poli sci (taken through local cc)

SAT: 1550 composite (790 math 760 english)

  2. started a community intiative (name not disclosed for privacy): raised 10k for kids in the foster care system thru organizing multiple drives, grew to have over 100 volunteers throughout the community, spread awareness about CA's foster care crisis

  3. volunteered at camp for kids in the foster care system (again name censored for privacy)

  4. ALA CAGS delegate -> district attourney -> ALA girls nation: wrote legislation about FFA insurance

  5. writer's lab (club at my school): applied and was selected (top 10/ 30ish); expanded to feature poetry and critical essays as categories for submission; played 2 leads in writer's festival; inducted as a thespian + received theatre high honors for 3.5+ GPA

  6. feminist literature club: PR officer -> secretary; coauthored a petition garnering 200+ signatures for a feminism related issue at my school

  7. ECHO club: collected donations (5,000+ items) across 4 drives; spread awareness about environmental causes; organized school's first environment fair

  8. church volunteer: teach sunday school to kids aged 5-12; only youth member on the AGW committee; written multiple sermons

my absolute dream school is columbia but obviously im aware that may be out of reach, especially as no one from my school has ever attended an ivy. please feel free to leave any advice thank you so much for your time!!
