Concerned about my instructor
Hi all, I’m currently going through continuing education. Long story short, and I *do not* say this lightly, but I don’t believe my instructor is qualified to be teaching. Yes, he is licensed and is legally allowed to teach, but here are a few reasons why I’m starting to get concerned:
• He leaves the room whenever we’re doing something new on each other. For example, last Monday when we were learning dermaplaning, our instructor left the room for a very long time. I needed antibacterial ointment because I nicked my classmate, and when I finally found my instructor, I stood behind him as he chatted with a friend for 5 minutes (I timed it), and then he turned to talk to another instructor. I had to remind him that I was there.
• He doesn’t know how to pronounce the words on his slideshows, yet claims to have made them himself. One of these words was “biochemical”.
• Apparently there was an important meeting with my classmates last week as well, but guess what? I didn’t know about it because he never sent me the email. So, that made me look incredibly bad and irresponsible because HE didn’t send me the email.
• In a few weeks we’re going to be taking a clinic floor test out, and I truly do not feel prepared because I don’t feel like I’ve actually learned anything, and it’s not for a lack of effort. What should I do? I was debating on talking to him or maybe the admissions person about this, but I don’t want to come across as cocky or anything.
