Career Change to SPED in DFW – Chances of Getting Hired Through iTeach Texas?
I have a bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration and about 5–6 years of experience in healthcare coordination/administration roles. I’m currently making a career shift into education.
I recently enrolled in iTeach Texas for Special Education certification and I’m also planning to pursue a master’s in SPED/ABA. I’m hoping to take my TExES exam this summer.
For those familiar with the DFW area, what are my realistic chances of getting hired for a SPED teaching position in districts like Lewisville, Coppell, Flower Mound, or Dallas ISD as an alternative certification candidate?
Do districts in these areas hire interns/alternative certification teachers often? And how competitive is it right now?
