Ritalin Benefits (Anyone Similar?)

Hello! I recently was prescribed Ritalin and I barely noticed the effects. I expected the glasses thing because I also had adhd but it was kinda underwhelming but would have great if it stayed for longer.

Benefits:
-Focus
-Cognitive Engagement
-Easily subjected to Euphoria

It is more or less that, I felt focus and cognitive engagement similar to when I use some coping mechanism of mine but its too short lived. Am I expecting too much or is this really it? Maybe the addictive factor comes from constant exposure. And the crash felt mild but I don’t like it.

Well I also do cardio, proper sleep, working out like many of you guys, but maybe the Cognitive Engagement and focus I’m looking for is inattentive adhd? Because despite the slow processing in ritalin I was finally able to focus and engage consistently.

In terms of supplements, what do you guys recommend might help my case? And also for people who tried Ritalin how was your experience with it?

Thank you for reading!

Can you guys share your success stories?

This is a really depressing prospective disorder. It would be really great if we had more success stories here.

Does anyone who had severe symptoms whom was able to find sustainable habits, meds, supplement combinations that may not be like a neurotypical but has helped them function and prosper. Like in a stable and sustainable manner?

How did you deal with symptoms like:
-Day Dreaming
-Cognitive Disengagement (Having low engagement, working memory, comprehension) (Social, Work, Studies, Hobbies)
-Sleepiness and hypo activity

Would really appreciate you guys sharing, I know I’m overthinking again but I just kinda felt hopeless.

Adhd comorbid with SCT/CDS Anyone?

For context I’m someone assessed with Adhd-Pi with suspected CDS though it is not within the DSM-5 it is emerging to be a separate disorder. Can anyone relate to these symptoms?

Has anyone who has CDS/SCT +- Adhd ever had stability?

Hello would like to know if anyone who has CDS/SCT +- Adhd ever had stability? Like long term.

With the application of proper sleep, eating healthy, active life style and coping strategies what other things have you used to get that kind of stability?

What type of meds or supplement stack are you using that worked long term for your stability? I’m curious as many use med stacks which is pretty risky and not so sustainable long term, what type of meds, supplements and natural ways do you use to cope and somewhat lead a close to normal life? Especially in promoting engagement with social, personal and work matters.

Does Atomoxetine effects on SCT/CDS Disappear over time?

Hello I’m highly considering Atomoxetine for long term use, would appreciate it if someone has any experience with it.

Questions:
-Does Atomoxetine help with internal engagement? In studying I noticed I lack engagement, lower comprehension and working memory. Rather than a pack of focus.

-Does Atomoxetine effects disappear over time? Or does people just perceive it as the new normal? And only notice its effects when going off? I’m really conflicted with this as responses here are mixed.

-Can you manage the high blood pressure with regular cardio and diet changes? I would really like this to be sustainable

-Lastly how long can I possibly stay on the medication? For health risks, or how long does the avrg SCT user stay on it before going out and why?

Highly appreciate any response, have a nice day everyone.

Frustrated with this SCT/ADHD whatever this is

I HATE THIS SO MUCH, I HATE THIS SO VERY MUCH. I HAD A HARD TIME JUST GETTING BREAKFAST, SHOWERING CHORES CARDIO AND WORKING OUT. IT TOOK ME 6 HOURS TO COMPLETE THE ROUTINE WHILE MIND WANDERING IN A INTERESTING WAY JUST TO HAVE MOTIVATION WHILE DOING IT. AND THEN I CANT COMPREHEND A TEXT PROPERLY, AND NOT ONLY THAT, I WANNA CONVERSE PROPERLY BUT I CANT EVEN PROPERLY COMPREHEND A THING MY FRIENDS OR FAMILY SAY LET ALONE FORM A THOUGHT FROM IT AND (VULGAR WORD) SAY IT.

I WANT TO CONVERSE WITH PEOPLE PROPERLY, I WANT TO JUST WAKE UP AND DO MY WORK WITHOUT HAVING TO THINK OF ANYTHING JUST TO MOTIVATE MYSELF WHILE DOING IT, I WANT TO FOCUS WITHOUT ALL THESE STRATEGIES MEDS AND ACTIVITIES AS PRE-REQUISITE, I WANT TO BE HAPPY!!

WHY WHY WHY, WE GAVE OUR BEST FROM THE GET GO, WHY ISNT IT GETTING ANY BETTER, WHY DID WE HAVE THIS IN THE FIRST PLACE? “(THE MOST VULGAR OF VULGAR WORDS) CDS AND ADHD.”

Is this CDS with adhd-pi? (Or another type of disorder)

Tldr; I’m mind wandering to try and find dopamine to have energy doing tasks, almost every second of the day. Applying exciting methods makes me feel base line engagement to tasks; studies, social but after excitement wears off I feel my base line being disengaged, lower comprehension, working memory, mind fog and disengagement despite sustained focus resulting to mind strain.

Hello, I’m John, 20. All my life I always struggled with these symptoms, inability to separate my self from day dreaming, it’s like I’m using internal thoughts as dopamine sources so I would have a bit of energy while engaging in tasks; going out to eat, showering. And when I focus on just the task with trying to suppress mind wandering, I feel mind strain until burn out and I can no longer sustain my focus and mind wander. It’s like mind wandering all the time and just focusing on for seconds to adjust what I was doing in default.

I also found that when I create new method which would increase my ability in doing a task; studies, my cognitive ability feels more engaged, stable increased comprehension and working memory. I feel excited and day dream a bit about the productivity I would produce and how people would react. But I’m still able to engage in the studies. This also applied to social interactions, when I felt really in need of someone or made a better method to increase my social ability I can interact with them through back and forth conversation properly.

But after the experience is done, I don’t feel excited or enjoy the experience after repetition. And without my improvements that made me feel so excited, my cognitive ability was brought back to my low base line.

Without the coping I can focus but I feel disengaged with the material in studies, abysmal comprehension, barely any working memory and I can barely process some of the information. I also feel sleepy, disengaged and mind wandering despite trying my best to focus and engage with the material. In terms of social interactions my comprehension to what they say also seems flat and even when I do comprehend it feels like I haven’t processed it properly and I also don’t have a reaction.

Is this the adhd executive dysfunction? (Disengaged with reality)

Hello guys I just want to ask because I’m already gone and hopeless. When nothing feels interesting I find it really difficult to do or initiate anything. But even when I do, its very very difficult to be engaged, like your mind is fighting you so you focus and focus on doing the task and then you suddenly burn out. And the task was going out to eat or taking a shower basic stuff.

In contrast when I have a interesting thought or exciting method I would apply things would get easier, while eating I’m thinking of the methods and until the method gets developed, the thought process is method creation, how it would improve my performance, people reaction that would make me feel excited and results to engagement, if its correlated with studying I can focus, engage and understand easily the content. But after the day, the same method won’t work and I have to make a new one and I’m burned out of it. And I still find it difficult to focus in reality without the thoughts boosting my interest. Or dopamine?

Tldr:
Issue: I find it difficult to just focus in doing things in reality I always feel unengaged, apathetic and unable despite willingness and focus in doing it.

May ADHD ba ako? (Hindi ko na alam gagawin)

Hey guys, I’m John, 20. I have been from 2 psychologists which suggest I have adhd-pi and is undergoing a assessment but my psychiatrist has stated na besides the “constant need to improve a method to focus in studies” wala naman daw siya makitang ibang signs of adhd, and it’s frustrating.

A symptom I observed is that I always want something interesting happening, and I’m always in my head thinking about that interesting thing. Like figuring out a new way to study and I would feel invincible and kaya ko mag focus sa studies and do the requirements all day. Pero the next day nag sawa na ako don sa thinking na yun and my productivity is now null.

A severe case is that this morning I told myself na I won’t think, fantasize or create a method anymore and would just focus on reality. Pero ang LALA MASYADO, Even getting up and buying food outside was really difficult. Na strain pa ung utak ko from not thinking and just focusing on what I am doing. I just don’t have the energy or motivation to do anything, even the things I love unless it’s gonna be interesting. So one way or another napunta ulit ako sa mind wandering but I could still barely do anything anymore without a interesting thought like a improved version of a method I’m using.

For you guys do you think this is ADHD or another different thing. Because this is so impairing that I honestly don’t know anymore. I already implemented working out, cardio, sleep and to some degree pag kain ng maayos, it helped but I still feel so impaired, mga bagay na alam ko kaya ko gawin, hindi ko magawa for some reason. PLEASE HELP:( Thankyou for reading.
