I received an RFIE for my STEM OPT I-765 application related to employer name/E-Verify mismatch.
The issue is that my company officially changed its name, but the E-Verify registration still appears under the previous company name. Because of this, USCIS stated that the employer name and E-Verify number listed in my application could not be validated.
I now have:
the official RFIE notice, the E-Verify document showing my company created my E-Verify case when I joined the company (under the previous company name with the same E-Verify number), and official documentation showing the company name change/rebranding.

I am planning to respond through the myUSCIS portal, but I’m confused about the correct way to upload the response package.
I had a few questions:

1. Should I upload everything as one combined PDF or as separate uploads?

2. If combined, what order should the documents be in?

3. Should the coversheet be the first page and the RFIE notice after that?

4. Do I need to fill anything in on the premium processing coversheet?

5. For the response package, should I create one single PDF that includes:
   the coversheet, RFIE notice, explanation letter, E-Verify proof, and company name change documents together?

Would really appreciate guidance from anyone who has handled a similar STEM OPT RFIE response through the USCIS portal.

Hi everyone,

I applied for STEM OPT I-765 with premium processing. My USCIS case status recently changed to “Request for Initial Evidence Was Sent.” However, I do not see the RFIE notice in my USCIS online account under the Documents tab, and I also do not see a “Respond to Evidence” option/button.

I already emailed the premium processing email address requesting a PDF copy of the RFIE notice, but I have not received a response yet. I also contacted USCIS, and they said I should receive the physical notice by mail.

I’m a little worried because I don’t know what evidence they are asking for, and I don’t want to miss the response deadline. I also want to make sure I respond the correct way if the online response option never appears.

Has anyone experienced this before with STEM OPT or I-765 where the RFIE status was updated but the notice was not available online? How long did it take for the notice to show up in the Documents tab or arrive by mail? If you received only the physical RFIE notice, did you respond by mailing physical copies, or did the online “Respond to Evidence” option eventually appear?
