Thinkpad e14 gen 6 bricked after failed BIOS update (I think)
Hi everyone, I need some help.
My ThinkPad E14 Gen 6 is currently bricked.
I was using Linux Mint, restarted to boot into Windows 11 (dual boot). Windows froze on a black screen right after the logo so I force shut down by holding the power button. When I turned it back on, a message popped up stating that the BIOS was recovered (Self-Healing BIOS or something like that). The laptop was working, but the message kept appearing on every boot.
While in Windows, I found an update for the BIOS in Lenovo Vantage, but for some reason it failed the installation and it told me to restart the laptop. I did it and Windows froze AGAIN after the logo. Forced shut down once more.
Then (fuck me) following some AI advice, I held down the power button for several seconds while the laptop was powered off to "drain static".
Well now the laptop won't turn on. When I press the power button, it lights up for 1 second, does some noise, and immediately turns off. If I keep trying it repeats this 1-second loop indefinitely. No logo, no display, nothing.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Any help is welcome. 😓
Edit: I tried holding the power button for about a minute, but it didn't work. Also, every 10 seconds while holding it down, it just kept doing what's shown in the video. Maybe it's lenovo support's time
