Hi, has anyone moved laterally from one firm to another, or from in-house to PP, without using a recruiter?

Do you think any partners are receptive to prospective emails with CVs attached or are the usual recruiter channels more reliable?

I’m now 1PQE, and it seems really hard to get a transparent view of the market at all, as most positions are not advertised widely or publicly.

Hi - I am 1PQE, I interviewed with an international firm last week for a lateral move with a recruiter just before the bank holiday weekend. I haven’t heard back from them yet, the recruiter has chased this week. In total it’ll be 1 week since contact.

How long in people’s experience can this take? And at what point should I start to think that it is a bad sign?
