First one done!
Did my first marathon on the 4th May (Milton Keynes).
I have been following the garmin intermediate marathon plan. Started with the ability to run a half in 1hr 55mins so was aiming for just finish (with 4hours in the back of my mind)… halfway through the training block I did a half in 1hr 43mins, I then ran the Oakley 20mile in Bedfordshire in 2hr 53mins.
I set of on the run with an idea that I might have a 3h45m in me
I ran my marathon in 3h37mins!
Went off way quicker than I should have (got carried away in the crowds) did the 1st half in 1h46mins and then held on for dear life for the second half…. Just booked Brighton for next year (along with the obligatory London ballot)
