The one silver lining about Trump winning the presidency both the first and second time is that all the suspicions we had about conservatives have now been proven true. Trump is so shamelessly, uniquely, and openly corrupt that his behavior has exposed the hypocrisy of those who support him. Because conservatives are willing to go along with it, it proves they were never honest about the things they claimed to care about. It was all just a vehicle to attack Democrats.
The idea that they genuinely cared about states’ rights, divisive rhetoric, competent government, deficit spending, racism, free speech, or authoritarianism has been completely disproven. Those principles were never sincerely held they were simply tools to attack President Obama and liberals in general. When it’s their own side actually doing the bad things they claimed to care about, they’re perfectly willing to ignore or even defend them.
Before Trump, they had plausible deniability. So they could get away with pretending like they cared about those things and liberals had to contend with them as if they were really caring about those things. But now, we all for sure know they are a bunch of shameless hypocritical subhumans who care about nothing but their side winning and the other side losing at any cost. We are all suspicious of it but now we know for sure.
