Spent the day ripping out and replacing the downspout drain line on my house, which was built in 2018. It hasn’t worked properly since I bought the place a few years ago. Every time it rained, water would spurt out of the connection where the downspout fed into the buried corrugated pipe. Thought maybe it was plugged or something.

Once I dug it up, the reason became pretty obvious. The buried pipe was installed running uphill, and the pop-up emitter at the end had sod laid directly over it. So the entire system depended on water flowing uphill and then somehow escaping through a layer of dirt and grass.

Absolutely incredible work. Neither of the backyard drain lines had a visible emitter, so I had hoped they fed into a dry well or something... But now I know there’s probably just another pop-up emitter buried under the lawn somewhere.

I’m not sure how common this is, but my insurance refuses to cover any SGLT2 inhibitors, so I've been just paying a stupid amount out of pocket every month. But it looks like Cost Plus Drugs (Mark Cuban’s pharmacy) is now carrying the generic Farxiga for $15/3-month supply.
