A bit confused

Hi everyone,
I have a Hyundai Kona EV 2019 with aircon problems. I brought it to a mechanic today who told me to scrap the car and rid of it all because apparently the bumper is hard to remove? I found that a bit ridiculous. He didn’t even bother to identify a problem, he knelt down in front of it, touched the underside and brought me in and said ‘scrap it’. I’m going to go to a main dealer to get it sorted but just wondering if anyone else had this problem with independent mechanics not wanting to work with EVs or are they genuinely that hard to work with and better off scrapped if aircon isn’t working how it should?

EV advice

Hi everyone
I have a 2019 Hyundai Kona EV but recently aircon has stopped working fully. Mechanic thinks it could be a leak but not able to check for 3 weeks. Had the gas topped up a few weeks ago but blowing warm air again. Hot air is also not strong either now. Just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and rough estimate of what cost to expect from the repairs. Thank you
