Hey everyone, I’m an international student admitted to Széchenyi István University (Győr) for the upcoming semester starting September 7, 2026.
To give some context, I previously applied for my visa earlier, but it got rejected/delayed due to administrative and procedural issues on the embassy's side, not because of any mistake or missing documents on my part.
Because of this previous delay, my earliest available VFS appointment to re-submit my Residence Permit (Type D) application is now August 23.
Given the processing times, I'm worried my visa won't arrive before the semester starts, though the university allows arrival up until September 30.
Has anyone here been in a similar situation with Hungarian student visas? How long did it take for your visa to be issued after a late August re-submission due to embassy delays? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!
