Tourist Upsurge

Bhai kya log aa rahe hai Ujjain me, I know kuch dates hoti hai esi but it's so crazy rn. Log hi log hai and people are ready just for the mattresses, they just want any place to stay. Although we don't do such things, we respect our guests heavily but what I'm seeing is crazy!!! Multi level parking bhari hui hai, hotels, stays full hai. People are sleeping in cars!!

We are getting calls for bookings like every minute and I feel so bad denying people but it's a boom here in Ujjain.

To all my brothers and sisters of Ujjain, agar koi rasta puche to bata dena, koi pyasa ho to pani de dena, parking me help kar dena, afterall hum Baba Mahakal ke bhakto ki sewa hi kar rahe hai 🙏🙏 Inka experience accha banana humari duty hai.

And outsiders, tourist planning to come please pehle se hi apna stay book karlo to ensure better accomodation.

Jai Shree Mahakal 🕉️🙏

Anyone else feeling FOMO over the Jantar Mantar protest?

Indoris are out there while we're just watching everything unfold on X and Insta.

Tbh, this FOMO is so real. It's not even just about NEET anymore, it's the collective exhaustion with scam after scam.

Btw, our MP is the pioneer in this field. Don't forget VYAPAM 😉

Edit : Okay Avengers, comment section is surprisingly wholesome. If you've got ideas on how Ujjain can have more civic participation, drop them below. 👀

Which coaching to choose for UGC NET Political Science?

My qualifications : UG in Pol Sci, PG in Pol Sci.

How you cleared NET JRF? I want to give Dec-26 attempt. Should I just follow YouTube or join a coaching, and if coaching then which one to join ?

UJJAIN'S GROWTH SHOULD NOT BE A TRIGGER FOR ANYONE

There has been a surge in anti-Ujjain posts not only on social media but also through what appears to be a negative narrative pushed by Dainik Bhaskar over the past few months. DB has been continuously shaping a misleading narrative about Ujjain. This is Ujjain's subreddit, so I don't feel the need to recount the city's glorious history here. We all know how important Ujjain is and how, despite attracting the largest numbers of tourists in Madhya Pradesh, the city was deprived of adequate development for years. Rather than focusing on our rich past, I want to talk about the present. We never hate Indore, but the level of frustration some Indoris seem to have regarding Ujjain's development is upsetting. Indore has an airport, yet a significant portion of tourists in the region come primarily for Mahakal (this subreddit itself is proof of that). Indore has Pithampur and has also benefited at Dhar's expense in certain aspects. Indore didn't always have IT parks; it received investments and opportunities over time. The reality is that Indore's growth often came at the cost of other Malwa cities, especially Ujjain. Just because Indore is close to us doesn't mean its resources automatically benefit Ujjain. Ujjain needs its own resources, infrastructure, and growth engines. Coming to Simhastha, if people have concerns about UIMR, then why are development works in Indore being carried out under Simhastha-related projects? We have a clearly defined Simhastha Kshetra, and if the argument is about geographical limits, then those limits should apply consistently. At the same time, regional interoperability and connectivity should remain a priority. Builders and businesses in Indore also stand to benefit from these developments, yet many people seem to take the issue as a matter of ego. It is an open secret that certain political groups in Indore are unhappy about Ujjain finally receiving resources and attention that it has long deserved.

P.S. I am not a supporter of Mohan Yadav. I understand that the timing of this post may suggest otherwise, but the unnecessary hostility toward Ujjain needs to be addressed.

I’ve always been drawn to temples that are quiet and away from the usual hustle. When I was a child, I visited a temple in Ujjain that felt very similar and peaceful, slightly isolated, and with a strong sense of divine presence. I don’t remember the location anymore, but that feeling has stayed with me ever since. I’ve been trying to find it again. Does anyone know of such calm, lesser-known Shiv temples around Ujjain?
