This little jackass was stubborn about moving up to bigger prey. He was taking a proper weight of pinkies (usually two or three) but absolutely refused to move up to hoppers. He decided to cooperate around New Year and has been growing like a weed since. He was barely 40 grams when he decided bigger mice were edible. He’s still pretty undersized for his age (hatched Feb 2024) but at least he’s gaining ground!
Are anyone else’s Corns barely ever seen? Of the four snakes I own, I see the Corns the least, by far of any. My Western Hognose is constantly cruising or at least visible when his lights are on. I see my Ball Python out cruising at night pretty regularly. The Corns? I’ve had them for close to 2 years and can honestly count the times I’ve seen them moving on my hands with a few fingers to spare. I’m sure it’s because they’re most active just before dusk and settle in just before or a little after dawn (when I’m likely to be busy or asleep) and they’re more active than I know. I caught this guy out during early night last night…but I’m sure it’s because I generally feed him at that time, I just moved him from 5 day feeds, to weekly (I know, I know he probably should be 10 days-2 weeks at that age…but I just got him off multiple pinkies and onto hoppers, medium mice less than 6 months ago and he’s runty for his age…but has grown like a weed since cooperating on eating proper sized prey), was fed last Wednesday, and was wondering where TF his overdue mouse was last night.
