"Dogs are so loyal and love you unconditionally"

Yeah? Your dog loves you so much and is so loyal? Is that why it needs constant training, leashes, fences, barricades, etc. to not run away from you?
Over 10 million pets in the US alone go missing and run away, the majority being dogs.
Your dog doesn't love you. You hold it captive.

"Dogs are a man's best friend" yet they bite and attack over 4.5 million Americans a year?

Make it make sense.
