hi all! i’m just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience to me? desogestrel is the only pill i’ve ever used - i started when i was about 18 and then came off when i was 20; i decided to do this because i had recently come off sertraline as i was in a much better place but also because it caused a crazy amount of weight gain in a short space of time; as soon as i tapered off this dropped off very quickly and i felt much happier. i decided to come off the birth control as well just to see where my head was at with no meds. i then went back on about 5 months later when i was in a new relationship; when i started it before my periods stopped easily over time with no issues - this time i had a nightmare: very painful periods that were either spotting or very heavy, once i had three small ones in one month! eventually this settled down but i’ve noticed slowly over time my weight has been going up exponentially. i of course originally put this down to uni lifestyle and ate very well, lots of sport commitment, little alcohol and over 10,000 steps everyday. my weight has just kept going up and up over the last six months: i’ve gone from a 10 to a 14 so quickly and i feel helpless. it’s very concentrated around my hips and stomach and after so much work that would’ve normally made the weight fall off me - i can’t help but think it’s my pill; has anyone else has this experience and if so, did coming off make a difference?
