Asking in regards to my dad. Sorry it’s long but need advice.

My dad was recently an employee with Blue for the WA location and then the line got shut down (New Sheppard) and he got put on a stipend type ordeal and had til June 1st to secure another position or else he’d have to reapply as a ‘new’ employee.

Fast forward, he got hired on at the space coast location and signed the offer letter on June 1st. They eventually got relocation set up for him and were paying for a truck, movers, car shipping and giving him a check.

The truck people came to his house yesterday to measure all his stuff and it went well. THEN today… He got a call saying he may not have a job now because he has a DUI on his record from end of 2024/beginning of 2025. Anyways…. It must not of been on his record previously as he passed the initial background screening when he first got hired with blue.

Has anyone had anything similar happen and everything work out?

They told him the recruiter would be contacting him but his recruiter has the WORST communication and rarely answers his calls, emails, etc. (it’s been a fight since day 1 trying to contact her or find any info out).

Checkr said he has 5 days to dispute it but how are you supposed to dispute something like that when he pleaded guilty? (Aside from showing proof of drug & alcohol counseling and proof of going to meetings everyday for over a year).

He’s supposed to start on the space coast on the 7th and has now been out of work ever since Sheppard shut down (blue only paid him up until June 1st). I’ve never seen him in such a bad head space and just want to try giving him some words of encouragement that it’s maybe happened before and everything may still work out. (He got hired on as an Assembly & integration tech level 3).

Background check

My background check started on the 22nd, said it would complete the 23rd.. I just got an email saying it was pushed back a week to the 30th.. I’m supposed to start the 13th and live across the country and would have to hit the road no later than the 7th. Is this normal for it to get pushed back? 🥴 I can’t think of any reason why it would be pushed back a week.

Tickets

We bought tickets to the Seattle show at climate pledge and are unfortunately being relocated to Florida. Originally paid $1100 (VIP silver but VIP doesn’t transfer and they’ll be GA tickets) asking $600 for all 3 OR $225 per ticket OBO. Just trying to recoup some of the money we lost. Will transfer directly to your Ticketmaster account.

Need opinions

Would you leave Boeing in WA state as a grade 7 test tech for a level 1 assembly/integration tech at blue on the space coast? I got a job offer including relocation costs (it’ll be $5 more a/h with the shift differential). But it’s hard coming to terms on what the right decision is. I’ll top out in 6 years at Boeing at $72 a/h but til then, I’m making $27 currently and it’s not enough to live off of in WA (currently living with family) and we could easily live off $32 in FL (and buy a house as we were pre-approved there with the job offer letter) but I’m starting to get cold feet.

What would you do?!

Timeline/Job offer/Relocation

We live out of state and are unsure how the interview process goes.

Applied on June 1st
Recruiter called/Screen June 2nd
June 12th virtual interview with manager…

What should we expect after that?
How long does it usually take to get a job offer?

The position offers relocation (we would be moving from WA to FL), How does the relocation assistance work? Like do they cut you a check? 😂 Or do you submit all the costs and they pay for it? And how soon after the job offer do you get the assistance?
