Post Op 3 months
Post op has been a slog at best. People talk about the long recovery, it’s a marathon not a sprint yadda yadda.
All that is true. I’m walking about 7-8k steps a day but am super weary of limiting that on days I go hard at PT.
Most days follow a similar course: wake up stiff > hop on bike / PT> feel good > afternoon hip slump > moving slowr, > minor flare up in adductor knee or hip flexors.
Im certainly improving but still proceeding cautiously due to how frustrating the groin flare ups can be. Im chalking this up to long time dysfunction prior to surgery thus learning how to properly use glute.
Sitting still sucks for extended periods, so I try to move around as much as possible but also limit what I do because of flare up concerns.
The most interesting feeling I suppose is the heaviness or achiness of the hip joint generally. Has anyone dealt with this? Fairly believable it’s my body loading but unlike the adductor flares, it comes on more easily but also more subtlety. Have to imagine it’s normal, can someone confirm their experience with this?
