Is it realistic/possible for me to apply for an MA program?

Hi all!

I’m very interested in continuing my education and earning a Master’s degree. However, my question for you all is: is there any point when I performed horrifically in undergrad and already have substantial student loan debt?

Context: I was the typical high achiever in high school but once I went to university (Michigan State) I floundered. I started off majoring in Apparel and Textile Design but couldn’t handle not doing well in the technical art classes so I switched… to Advertising. I didn’t even pick it, a friend did. I had no idea what I wanted to do. I had mental health issues that I wasn’t taking care of and ended up *just* barely graduating. I currently work as an Executive Assistant and hate it.

So, I have horrible grades from undergrad (below 3.0) and am in over $100k worth of debt. I want to earn an MA (and have several areas of interest) in part to help me pivot out of my current career and because I love learning, but it just seems wildly impossible.

If anyone has any perspective/input/advice, I’d appreciate it!
