Does anyone have experience with washing the faded grey jeans (the lost tapes flares wash)

I have a few with this wash but I've always been scared that I could somehow wash out the 3d bump effect of the upward lighter stripes

Does it stay in or do I have to accept the loss to wash them?

Always thought it was a pretty detail
