Am I asking the for too much from the jeweler? ?
I’ve been working with a shop on Etsy to make a ring. I loved the initial CAD and the photo of the first ring they sent for approval, however, I asked for crushed ice and they made the initial ring with a regular brilliant cut. They apologized and said it was no problem to correct.
They sent a photo of the corrected ring with the crushed ice stone. The prongs looked terrible, in my opinion. I pointed out the prongs looked crooked in some spots and they are not as snug around the stone as the CAD or the first ring I approved that had the wrong stone. They said they will correct the prongs. They sent a photo for approval today. The prongs are not crooked anymore but they are still not spaced as closely together as the rings i approved. They are not as snug around the stone. Am I being too picky? Is this a very minor issue that is not noticeable? I paid over $300 to have this ring made. I’ve had good experience with them in the past. I also asked for videos like they sent for my last ring. They said they’d send a video but don’t.
Photos: 1. CAD 2. I approved ring but the stone needed to be changed 3. Corrected stone but prongs looked crooked and not what I approved. 4. Photo I received today of
“Corrected“ring. I am not happy. Am I tripping?
Am I looking too closely?
