Turning a Reproduction M40 into something usable for reenactment.

Many reenactors don't think much of German reproduction helmets (me included), but I think these helmets can be acceptable and even a good alternative to originals in some ways.

Many people don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on a repainted original, which is understandable, considering that you still have to buy a lot more items for an impression.

I've decided to buy an M40 from Nestof (Poland) and try to make it look more authentic.

I've added a rough-textured paint layer (I applied it with a brush to make it look like a field overpaint), treated the liner and chinstrap with boiled linseed oil, and added a bit of wear and tear.

I think the results are very good.

Keep in mind that these helmets are NOT usable straight away; you have to put in a bit of work.

Spanish Military Merit Cross found, Spanish Civil War

I found this Merit Cross yesterday.

It's by far the best find I've ever made!

Due to it being found in Germany, it must have belonged to a German Soldier that served in the Legion Condor.
