I got into a rad tech program in Texas but just found out that their JRCERT accreditation is on probation due to low ARRT pass rate. They’ve informed me that they’re implementing mandatory review sessions (along with other stuff) and instructional enhancements to help students pass the exam the first time. They have let me know that the school holds another accreditation and if I still decide to pursue their program I will still be able to sit for the ARRT exam. They cannot guarantee what will happen but have let me know they are working towards improving and working accordingly to JRCERT standards to keep the accreditation.
I’m just not sure what to do now because I’ve been wanting to start a rad tech program for 2 years now but now this issue comes up. I was planning to move out of state for this program because all the programs in my area have long waitlists and super competitive, but now not sure if I should. My end goal is to move back to California and work there but not sure if I would be able to do that if the school is not JRCERT accredited when I graduate in 2028.
Any advice? Has anyone gone through a similar situation? If I decide to pursue this program can I come back to California and work here with my ARRT certification (if the school loses the JRCERT accreditation)?
