I built my first enterprise RAG Assistant from scratch-what should i add before applying for AI internships?

After spending the last few weeks learning AI engineering, I've finally built my first enterprise RAG Assistant.

Current stack:

  • python
  • FastAPI
  • FAISS vectorbase
  • OCR for PDFs
  • Semantic search
  • AWS bedrock integration(currently using a mock LLM because of the quota limits
  • source citations for retrieved documents
  • REST API endpoints for upload and question answering

My goal is to use this project to land remote AI/ML or LLM internships.

if you were reviewing this project as a recruiter or hiring manager:

  1. What would you say "this candidate stands out"?
  2. What feature would you add next?
  3. Should i focus on Docker, kubernetes, PostgreSQL, React, or something else?

I'd really appreciate honest feedback. Thankyou
