Resident requests euthanization

I've helped easily over 200 residents toward the end of their life in the 2 years and one month of being a CNA in 2 facilities; I've only had 2 or 3 that are just ready to pass on and they've always asked for 'a shot to let them pass' or something to that extent.

Seems pretty rare as most residents are constantly asking for my presence and they are lonely and don't want to pass on. Unfortunately my state doesn't have any patient ratio limit so it's hard to spend a lot of time with them while helping others.

As far as if euthanization should be an option, I think I lean slightly yes as I can understand if you live a long life and are suffering, it might be hard to continue living. But it's hard to put myself in their shoes of course.

Anyone else experienced this in the same rarity or at all? Or have thoughts on if those options should be available?

Nurse refused to change resident

35 Male CNA. I'm working in a rehab/long term care center and have been a CNA for over 2 years. I'm very good at my job and 99% of my residents love me.

Some residents get uncomfortable at the thought of a man changing them which is understandable, I've known many ppl like that and I always respect them by asking a female nurse or CNA.

My nurse today is new to me as they are from a travel agency. A resident asked for a female and I asked the nurse who shook her head no with a disgusted type look on her face and said she'll talk with the resident.

This was a bit annoying as most nurses don't mind but every once in a while it happens where nurses refuse to do any CNA work.

Anyone else get annoyed by this or is it just me?
