By which I mean, you have multiple choices of check to choose to go for and you know beforehand what they are (might be a trap). The only ones I know of are shopsanity settings for games, which tends to be a tiny amount, and Factorio. Factorio's tech-tree implementation is very much a point of interest for me... except I can't get into the gameplay of Factorio.

So, what other games do it closer to that? The vast majority of checks across all games seem to be blind-pickup, sometimes you want to try a change.
