My first heavy TCAT since joining. What now?
I’m a WO Sup Tech who has worked in a small unit with an even smaller remote company in Norther Ontario. Been in for 14 years. I’m about to come home from deployment with a heavy TCAT that’s valid for 6 months. I want to contest the TCAT given the circumstances around my situation but that’s another story for later. In short they said I was suffering from severe anxiety and now I can’t drive, supervise, hold a weapon etc etc. it’s my first ever heavy TCAT. I’ve never ever ever dropped or failed a course, been injured or sent home from an exercise or tasking. Sharp in my whole career.
I am a class A reservist who hasn’t signed a class B yet because I just graduated university before getting deployed.
What was your personal experiences having a TCAT this heavy? Did it affect future deployment opportunities? Did it affect the ability to get a class B? Even though it’s not suppose to, did it affect your career progression? Were the councillors hard to deal with and kept holding you back even though you were sure you were going to be fine? I can already tell the difference with how people are personally treating me (like a bird with a broken wing) and it makes me feel isolated. I want to be realistically informed about what my future might look like.
