Moving out immediately after moving in?

Hey everyone. I recently posted on reddit about a loud neighbor that has made my life living hell since moving in. I signed a 2 year lease thinking everything would be fine and dandy (which they exceptionally were when I toured the place, literally 0 complaints) and only after I moved in did I realize I live next to a mentally (and?)or physically disabled person who frequently has meltdowns that have grown increasingly violent.

The last two days, he's been screaming 「死ぬ、死ぬ、死ぬ」 at someone or something and I think that was my final straw. Prior to this, my guarantor company was in touch with my building management per my request about the noise complaint with several audio and video evidence provided, but there's been pretty much 0 response on their end even when I pester them over and over.

Pretty much everyone I talk to about this just suggested I move out as soon as possible, which I wasn't fully considering until I felt confident that there was legitimately nothing more I could do to salvage my living situation. I am now looking for advice on people who have ever moved out fairly soon after moving into their Japanese apartments.

How successful were you in getting your landlord/management to waive fees? Many people suggested I do this, but I can find little recourse on what to ask or how to go about asking. What are my rights here? Do I bother my guarantor company about this? They are fully aware that I want to move out, but again I don't even know what to start asking about.

Apologize, again, if this is somehow easily googleable information. I'm pretty swamped and devastated and have had little luck in finding any pre-existing online accounts of anyone in the same situation as me. For the time being, I'm in talks with several realtor companies who are aware of my situation and how I'm looking to minimize initial move-in fees for a new place. That's all I have going for me right now, lol.

Thanks.

How likely to punished for missed pension deadline

Hi,

I am moving between places and my old mail is still delivered to my old place. I hadn’t been back in a few weeks and I just managed to get my mail from my mailbox. I missed my pension payment on the 18th and another letter was sent with payment due 30th of June. I just paid today (7/1) in full.

How fucked am I? Or is there an unlikely chance anything will happen? I’m very lost trying to make sense of this on google. I’ve been paying consistently and this is the first time I’ve missed a deadline.

New apartment, neighbor is extremely loud

More of a vent post, sorry. I don’t have spellcheck so sorry for typos.

When I applied for this apartment I saw the place in person but I guess the neighbors didn’t move in yet (place is extremely new and one or two people moved in around when I did.) The first two nights were mostly without issue but I woke up around 2 AM to my next door neighbor (our bedrooms share a wall) seemingly shouting at his computer or TV.

At first I was laughing because I moved 6,000 miles away from my younger brother just to live next to another teenager with no bedtime. It was the weekend, I brushed it off, but then the same thing happened 3 hours later at 5am and woke me up. I know teens/young adults can all-nighter menaces but it felt out of character for that type.

Since then, I’ve gathered that my neighbor is most likely an adult with special needs. He talks to himself (or someone online who I can’t hear) very loudly in Japanese most nights intermittently, meaning I have to wear headphones to not be disturbed by his sound. I have yet to get a full night of sleep because on top of that, my body has started to instinctually wake up at 5AM to prepare for his shouting, GROWLING, stomping, pacing, clapping, and his insistence on throwing large objects onto the floor repeatedly(? I don’t really know what he’s doing but it sounds like that)

He seems to live with a woman or has someone come check on him, who he also argues with, especially in the morning. I cannot get his schedule down because some nights/mornings he is insanely quiet like he’s not even home (I wake up anyways bc he’s screwed my sleep schedule) and other days it’s so, so, bad. This morning he screamed four or five times in a row and threw multiple things on the ground. Despite being neighbors, I’ve yet to see either of them leave their apartment, either.

My building has an app with an FAQ on what to do about loud neighbors, and of course it’s that I resolve this issue between ourselves and in the event that is a more severe of a situation I call the police. I am an shy person on top of not being a native japanese speaker, I do not know how I would even approach this situation.

I feel very trapped because it’s not just that my neighbor is being particularly an asshole, but there are special circumstances due to their apparent disability. If he does live with someone, I can’t imagine how stressful day to day is and to top it off a foreigner has moved in next door and demanding you do more about the situation. If I confronted the situation I wouldn’t want to come out the gate looking like a pissed off neighbor, but it is starting to really affect my day to day that I’m building some sort of animosity to the both of them.

I’m not sure what to do at all. I’m very lost. If I left a note, it would so obviously come from me, so I don’t want to be snarky at all. I will have to live next to these people for the next two years. I don’t know.

Can I have someone do a wire transfer for me

Hi again reddit, I’m having issues with withdrawing the necessary total amount of funds for my rental invoice since there’s a limit of withdrawing on my US card at ATMs.

My friend has a japanese bank account, I don’t. The rental company only accepts cash or wire transfers. Would it be fine/legal to send my payment to my friend and have her wire transfer it to them for me? Or would this be an issue?

Thanks!

Can I use a jitsuin hanko before registering it?

Hi all, I've been here for 6 months and I just went through the process of getting an apartment. I was given an estimate both online, friends, and my own real estate company that the entire process would take a minimum of 3-4 weeks. I went in on Saturday, and they called and told me I got the place on Monday. So, I've been scrambling to get everything in order.

Today, I was notified by my agent that I needed to bring a hanko to sign my invoice for tomorrow. She gave me instructions on how I could go get one from Donki or whatnot beforehand and use it. The impression I'm getting is that I can bring whatever and there's an understanding that my hanko would not be registered as it's less than 24 hours in-between.

I know there are tiers to hanko, but as I am moving very soon I would find it redundant to register my hanko with my current ward only to have to reregister it when I do end up getting the place in a week. Would it be possible to purchase a hanko now, use it, and then register it at the ward office before/when I move in? Would I still be able to sign important documents with it?
