I'm surprised by the public narrative and think this is being missed. LSU has continued to profit off his name, long after the NIL deal expired. Daniels had a handshake deal that they could do this so long as they kept #5 unworn. Handshake deals are legally binding. LSU broke the verbal contract that allowed them to profit off his name. Any business or entity would sue in this situation.
