Breaking free from millennial beige

I fell into a millennial beige trap and as the title says, I’m trying to break free.

I know Zellige tiles are just trendy right now, but I’m hoping the splash of color could help my basement apartment.

Looking to get more opinions.

First photo is the kitchen now. Basement is open concept, so the beige kitchen bleeds into a beige living room and it feels rather dull.

I’m looking at peel and stick for now, wondering if anyone’s used it or know how it looks in person / holds up or if they just think my colour combo is crazy. (I do have blue dishware I love and the rug was passed down and is where I’m pulling the colors. But I’m open to anything, this is the planning stage)

TIA
