Staying energised

I truly wonder, because this is my best TravelHack and always has been. I know that a lot of tourists over-eat when on a trip. Huge breakfasts and a huge lunch and then top it of with dinner.

I can't. Not because I don't want to, but because this will make me crash three times per day. The energy spike after the massive meal is great and I run up and down hills and then afterwards I am done for. I used to travel like this for years (because it seemed normal) and everytime after 4 days I was exhausted.

Now I don't do that at all. I eat the entire day. Small bites. I have lttle snacks in my backpack. It took some convincing of my dad (because he was a big fan of the big meals) but even he admits it's nicer to regulate his energy.

Is this a big thing? Or am I just sensitive to energy crashes?

Do you change too when staying too long

After 5+ years of fulltime travel I started to notice something. I heavily adjust to where I am. Especially when staying too long.

When I visit a city for just a few days this doesn't happen, but when I stay longer than 2 weeks and start participating in the 'city' life I truly start adjusting to the city and the culture. This doesn't truly happen when I am in a specific area without people. For example when I am at the coast for a longer time. But cities and villages change me and I only notice once I leave.

Do you guys have the same?
